Feature Fashion :: 10 minutes with Jess Marshall

Jeskaalee-2014

This month I’m psyched to introduce the new ’10 minutes with…’ editor takeover segment, and to kick off I had a chat with Gold Coast blogger babe Jess Marshall, aka @jeskaalee. Here’s what she had to say:

Fashion icon?

Hanneli Mustaparta. She has a way of making everything so classically beautiful.

Current obsession?

At the moment I am obsessed with making healthy raw desserts. I’ve only mastered raw cacao & coconut balls so far, but can’t wait to get creative and try out more. They taste so good, and are guilt free!

Favourite place to shop?

I really enjoy shopping online as I love having everything at my fingertips. I can always find something I love at asos.com or the iconic.com.au. Though in saying that, I love an in-store experience, to touch, feel and try on garments. When it comes to in-store shopping I love Dissh Boutiques or local boutique Design Scout.

Best thing about fashion on the Gold Coast?

The Gold Coast has a mix of really laid back fashion and is starting to jump on the high fashion trends year after year. I love that I can wear a high fashion outfit paired with some casual sandals to almost any occasion. I guess you could call it coastal chic?

Your personal style, in one word?

This is always a tough one… I’d say my personal style in one word would be classy.

Wardrobe staples you can’t live without?

A well-fitted pencil skirt, a versatile pair of black pumps and loose fitting cotton tees… perfect for the warmer months.

Top tips for aspiring fashion bloggers?

My tips would be to make sure you do your own thing, find something about yourself and your style that is unique and individual and embrace it. Always work hard, stay humble and be true to yourself.
